Wayne Wesley Johnson è un chitarrista percussionista americano con il quale ho avuto il piacere di suonare a New York e successivamente al Festival di Soave.
Ecco cosa scrive a proposito del video:
"Les is accompanied here by Bobby Sutton on drums. I replaced Bobby as Les' drummer in '79 & '80, just before Les went in for his 5 way heart bypass surgery. We did the same show. The Paulverizer was essentia...lly a remote control to a Nakamichi 700 tape deck hidden behind the Gibson sign, atop his Gibson Low Impedance guitar amp. In the Nakamichi was a pre-recorded cassette tape with the different parts used to "simulate" what looked like live, multitracked recordings on stage. I believe the Paulverizer also had switches on it to turn vibrato/reverb on/off on his amp, too. The show that he used these recordings in, was the same show Les performed with reel to reel tapes when Richard Nixon was VP under Eisenhower...that's how far back this show goes. It was exciting then and to this day, still is.
What was interesting is that in one of the shows Les & I did together, he forgot which part he played and got out of synch with his own parts which took him by surprise when he played one part..triggered the Paulverizer to advance/play, and it played back a different part than he had just played....That was the "giveaway"...We all laughed, and Les pulled it all off....The funniest part was when he pretended to make his voice sound like Bing Crosby's and he had Bing's voice also recorded on the tape. It was always a great show and a load of fun to play. I enjoyed my times with Les."
